Kerala waste found dumped in Mandya district

Mandya: In yet another incident of waste from Kerala being dumped in the district, a team of officials led by Tahsildar has unearthed waste from the God’s own country.

The officials who found a Kerala lorry going towards Palahalli in Srirangapatna taluk, followed the vehicle and found the waste at the agricultural field of Venkatesh and the Jaggery making unit of Lokesh. Rizwan from Mysuru had dumped the waste in Venkatesh’s field and Saleem Khan in Lokesh’s Jaggery unit. Both were sourcing waste from Kerala and were selling them after segregating the waste.

According to Saleem Khan’s wife Shaheen Taj, they were segregating rubber waste and selling them to Jaggery units.

According to Tahsildar Roopa ” The racket of dumping Kerala waste is unearthed and action will be taken against both the land owners and waste dealers. Police have been instructed to file a case and a report will be submitted to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board”.

Revenue Inspector Suresh, L Prabhu and head constable Siddegowda were present.
