Karnataka Goshala Mahasangh meets CM, demands total ban on cow slaughter

Bengaluru: Dr S K Mittal President of Karnataka Goshala Mahasangh met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru recently. Mittal was accompanied by Vinay Guruji of Vinay Guruji of Swarna Peetikeshwari Dattashram, Gowrigadde, Chikkamagaluru.

A memorundum was also given to the chief minister with a request for enacting Karnataka Prevention of Cow and Cattle Slaughter Bill providing a complete ban on sale, purchase, transport of the cattle for slaughter.
Mittal reminded the chief minister of his efforts in 2010 for bringing the Bill and also about his announcement of cow dung dairy which is very much a necessity in the prevailing conditions too.
The recently constituted Karnataka Animal Welfare Board shall be strengthened by nominating Vice-chairman and suitable committees shall be constituted, along with the reconstitution of executive committee and other committees, Mittal told the chief minister.
The chief minister who gave a patient hearing assured prompt action, according to Mittal.
