Karnataka elections: Tension in Chittapur after polling officer votes for BJP

Kalaburagi: Tension prevailed for some time at Chamanur village in Chittapur taluk, after a polling officer allegedly registered a vote to BJP on behalf of an elderly woman.
The officer identified as B C Chavan was allegedly asked by an elderly woman to help her to cast for Congress. However, it is alleged that the officer pressed the button for BJP. The woman who noticed this raised her objection leading to some tense moments in the booth.
Congress candidate Priyank Kharge arrived at the spot and asked the officer be replaced. The officer was soon replaced.
