Karnataka elections: Siddaramaiah collapses due to low sugar at Kudligi

Vijayanagar: Tension prevailed at Kudligi helpiad when former chief minister Siddaramaiah collapsed on Saturday, apparently due to low sugar. He was in Kudligi to campaign.

It is reported that Siddaramaiah collapsed while alighting a car at the helipad. He was immediately helped by his gunman. He was made to sit inside the car and was given glucose and buttermilk and a doctor attended to him. After taking rest, Siddaramaiah left for campaigning.

Ballari and neighbouring districts report severe hot weather around this time of the year and this could have caused incoveneince to the Congres leader, it is said.

Siddaramaiah is one of the star campaigners of the party who is sought-after by several candidates to campaign for them. Siddaramaiah is busy campaigning through the State and rise in temperature could have taken a toll on him. However, after taking rest, he was at his energetic best.
