Karnataka elections: Shivarajkumar’s wife, Geetha Shivarajkumar to join Congress tomorrow

Bengaluru: Sandalwood’s Hat-trick hero actor Shivarajkumar’s wife and daughter of former chief minister late S Bangarappa, Geetha Shivarajkumar will join Congress on Friday. Several reports claimed that she will join the party at KPCC office in the presence of KPCC president D K Shivakumar.
Geetha Shivarajkumar has always openly supported her brother Madhu Bangarappa who quit JDS in 2021 and joined Congress. When Madhu Bangarappa was in JDS, she had identified herself with JDS. She had even tested political waters by contesting in Lok sabha polls in 2014 against BJP’s B S Yediyurappa in Shivamogga. But, she lost the elections.
Her other sibling, Kumar Bangarappa is currently the MLA of Soraba, the constituency that was long held by their father S Bangarappa.
This time, both the brothers are facing each other in Soraba constituency. While Madhu Bangarappa is contesting on Congress ticket, Kumar Bangarappa is seeking reelection on BJP ticket.
With Geetha Shivarajkumar officially joining the Congress, she is expected to campaign for Madhu Bangarappa.
