2 min read

Gadag: BJP leader and transport baron Vijay Sankeshwar said that Jagadish Shettar will suffer defeat with a margin of 50,000 votes. He is a leader with no vision and no individual charishma to win votes, mocked Sankeshwar.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Sankeshwar was of the opinion that it is Shettar’s misfortune that he is contesting from Congress party that he criticized for 30 long years!

Taking a dig at Shettar, Sankeshwar observed that his own supporters are not in supportive of his new ‘avatar’. On claims that with Shettar and Laxman Savadi switching sides to Congress the Lingayat vote bank will drift to Congress, Sankeshwar said the BJP will not suffer without these two leaders.

Countering Shettar’s claim that the BJP has done injustice to BJP, Sankeshwar was of the opinion that it was a total lie. “Shettar being a Lingayat has been a chief minister and has enjoyed several other positions.

“It is sad that Shettar is seeking votes in the name of projects that were actually implemented by MP, former MPs and several other MLAs,” he added.

He further said that Shettar does not have a vision and that is evident how today the BRTS has been reduced to. “The Hubballi Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) was the result of sheer his selfishness. Several crores went in drain but it is not benefitting anyone,” he claimed.

He further said that Shettar and Savadi will suffer a humiliating defeat this time.

Gadag BJP candidate Anil Mensinkai and others were present.
