Mysuru: IT officials recovered Rs one crore in cash that was hid in a Mango tree in the house of K Subramanya Rai in the City on Monday evening. Rai, sources said, is the kin of Ashok Kumar Rai, Congress candidate in Puttur Assembly constituency.
Photos of cash seized from the mango tree have gone viral on social media raising questions about “smart” practices that people are adopting in this election. The officials are yet to find the source of the cash and its intended use.
As the days to Assembly elections are getting near, the vigilance officials are keeping a close eye on suspicious transactions in this elections.
