Vijayapura: Crediting Social reformer Basavanna for being an inspiration for the BJP’s vision ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas’, Prime Minister said that the party will tread the path laid down by Basavanna.
Addressing a mammoth rally at Sainik School grounds at Vijayapura here on Saturday, Modi greeted the people in Kannada.
Taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi said that it was BJP that has implemented Basavanna’s principles and not the Congress. He listed out various schemes that the people have benefitted from BJP – in Centre and State. “Double engine governments ensure development and progres,” he added.
Referring to projects like Kalsa Bhanduri, Upper Krishna Bank project, PM Modi said that special allocation has been made to these projects in the budget. Revana Siddeshwara Lift Irrigation has been taken up, especially for the farmers of this region, he added.
There is transparency in the BJP government’s administration, while the Congress government was known for corruption, he chided. Under the Kissan Samman Nidhi, farmers are getting their due directly into their accounts. Farmers from Vijayapura have also benefited from this. “If there was a Congress government, it would not have reached the farmer but someone else’s account,” he added.
The BJP has chosen fresh faces to represent you all and vote for them for a secure future of Karnataka, he appealed.
