Karnataka elections: MLA Ramadas to propose global branding of GI products of Mysuru with PM Modi

Mysuru: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mysuru, the Cultural Capital of the State, MLA S A Ramadas has prepared a proposal to have global branding of products that have Geographical Indication (GI) tag in Mysuru.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, MLA Ramadas said a bouquet of 18 products that have Mysuru GI tag will be gifted to PM Modi and they include Mysuru betel leaves, Mysuru Peta, Mysuru silk, Mysuru jasmine flower, Mysore pak sweet and Mysuru Incense sticks and Mysuru Sandal Soap.
Ramadas felt that the proposal will facilitate a global platform for these products under the Prime Minister’s ‘Atma Nirbhar scheme’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign in Mysuru on Sunday evening. He will be accorded a grand welcome by 101 Nada Swara performers. Classical dancer Krupaka Phadke and team has choreographed a special performance to receive PM Modi with “Poorna Kumba”, informed MLA Ramadas.
