1 min read

Mysuru: As the Sun set in the West and the cool breeze swept the City of Palaces, the famous Jamboo Savari route was painted in Saffron colour as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Mysuru on Sunday.

BJP workers and curious people occupied every inch of space on the route to catch a glimpse of the BJP’s star campaigner.

People had climbed up the nearby buildings and trees and walls to watch PM Modi.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Mysuru at 5.55 pm and went on a road show in a specially designed vehicle. He was accompanied by MLAs S A Ramadass and K S Eshwarappa and Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha.

MLA Ramadass presented Modi with Mysore Peta before embarking on the road show.

Modi waved at the waiting crowd who cheered and cried ‘Modi Modi’, throughout the route, setting the mood of the evening that was under the spell of Modi.

The roadshow which began from Shivaratri Rajendra Circle near JSS Mahavidyapeetha ended at Highway Circle in Bannimantap covering 4 kms. The distance of the road show earlier planned till LIC Circle was cut down due to the shortage of time.

BJP leaders seemed elated with the crowds response to Modi’s roadshow. But it is to be seen whether this would translate into votes in equal measure, in the Assembly elections on May 10.
