Karnataka elections: Doctors, BE graduates among school dropouts in fray for Namma Mysuru

Mysuru: Mysuru is regarded as ‘Vidyakashi’ and the land of learned. As the elections to Assembly constituencies are fast approaching, let us take a look at the educational qualification of political candidates who are in the fray, here.

In Mysuru’s eleven constituency, there are candidates who are MBBS and BE graduates and a few who have not even completed school education.

Candidates with MBBS degree are: In T Narasipura: Dr Revanna (BJP) has done MS in General Surgery and Dr H C Mahadevappa (Congress); In Varuna: Dr Bharathi Shankar (JDS) has also studied MBBS.

There are quite a handful of BE graduates: BJP candidate Harshawardhan (Nanjangud), JDS candidates G D Girish Gowda (Hunsur), Ashwin Kumar (T Narasipura) who has done M Tech and H K Ramesh (Chamaraja) has done MBA. BJP candidate Kavish Gowda (Chamundeshwari) too has completed BE.

In Chamundeshwari constituency,

JDS candidate GT Devegowda has studied up to 8th standard and his rival Congress candidate Mavinahalli Siddegowda has studied up to 4th standard. In Chamaraja constituency, BJP candidate L Nagendra has studied up to 9th standard and Periyapattana JDS candidate K Mahadev has not completed SSLC.

Apart from this, Siddaramaiah contesting from Varuna as Congress candidate has completed LLB. His opponent V Somanna from BJP is a BA graduate.

In Nanjangud, Congress candidate Darshan Dhruvanarayan has done LLB and HD Kote JDS candidate Jayaprakash has studied MSW.
