Karnataka elections: AAP candidates confident of winning polls

Mysuru: All the four candidates of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) expressed confidence of winning elections on their own ability in their respective Assembly constituencies.
AAP Mysuru District Unit President Rangaiah who spoke first said “the party has taken the election seriously, by fielding 212 candidates, including 17 women candidates, three of whom are from the city.”
When asked if AAP will continue to have a presence in Karnataka after the elections, Rangaiah explained that “due to the delay in recognising AAP as a national party, the initial campaign was a low key affair, but the party is committed to expanding its grassroots presence throughout the state.”
The candidates then introduced themselves and shared their visions for their constituencies.
Malavika, former IT professional and social worker and candidate for Chamaraja Assembly constituency, aims to create earning opportunities for women and youth, preserve and promote Mysuru’s heritage and culture and ensure basic facilities and a dignified standard of living for all citizens.
Jayashree, a college lecturer, youth leader and social worker running for office from Krishnaraja constituency, plans to curb donation menace in private educational institutions, increase the quality of education, establish Mohalla clinics in each ward and provide jobs or earning opportunities for youth and women.
Kiran Nagesh Kalyani, a master in social work and activist, intends to educate every child and help them lead a dignified life, establish tuition centers in villages, and create skill development training centers for widows and single parents.
Finally, S R Dharmashree, an advocate, social worker and candidate for NR constituency, plans to improve the government school education system and provide job or earning opportunities for women, particularly for those from minority communities who make up the majority of her voters.
