Karnataka Congress raises crores from ticket aspirants

Bengaluru: Congress party in Karnataka is said to have raised not less than Rs 23 crore from the 1,450 ticket aspirants who have filed the applications seeking a chance to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections in 2023.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had invited applications from the ticket aspirants from all the districts. The aspirants had to pay the application fee of Rs 5,000, besides depositing Rs two lakh in the case of general category and Rs one lakh for SC/ ST aspirants.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala will be scrutinising the applications in a private resort at Varthur in Kolar on Friday. Surjewala will also personally interact with the aspirants, it is said.
