Mysuru: Hotel Owner’s Association of Mysuru District, won’t be supporting Karnataka Bandh call given by pro- Kannada activist and former MLA Vatal Nagaraj and other Kannada organisations on March 22.
In a press release, President of Hotel Owner’s Association C Narayangowda and Honorary Secretary A R Ravindra Bhat, have clarified that, the Association will be extending moral support to the bandh call.
Referring to the assault of a KSRTC bus conductor in Belagavi, Gowda said, the Government has already taken a stern action in the incident. Despite the action, how fair it would be to shut down the commercial activities in the name of Karnataka bandh. The hospitality industry comes under Food Essential Services Act and the hotels should cater to the tourists, visitors and patients with food.
The hotels, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian, bakery, sweet stalls, fast food, Tiffany’s, tea, coffee shops and chatt shops and luxury hotels and all other businesses associated with the hospitality industry will be in business as usual, Gowda stated.
