Karnataka Bandh! Muslims close commercial establishments in Mysuru, support bandh call

Mysuru: Karnataka Bandh call given by pro-Muslim organisations over the ban on Hijab, received a good response in the city on Thursday.

The commercial establishments belonging to the minority community, particularly Muslims are totally shut in the city.

The Muslims dominated commercial establishments in Mandi Mohalla, N R Mohalla, Meena Bazaar, Boti Bazaar and Azeez Sait double road in Narasimharaja Assembly constituency are downed in support of the bandh call.

Muslims who run shops in negligible numbers in other parts of the city mainly in Chamaraja and Krishnaraja Assembly constituencies are also shut in support of the bandh call.

The Federation of Mysuru Muslim Organisations that met on Wednesday extended its support to the bandh call after the organisations in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi announced bandh.

The bandh call was given for restraining Muslim girls from wearing Hijab at schools and colleges.
