Mysuru: With lockdown in place due to Coronavirus, police are adopting creative ways to bring in awareness among the people and also to reprimand them with their lathi.

K R Nagar police have incorporated one such innovative way to bring in awareness among the people, most importantly to spread the message of ‘Stay home, stay healthy’ with the fear of Coronavirus gripping all.

If anybody is found roaming on the road without any reason, he will be taken to station and made to read a board– I Am Sorry, I Will Stay At Home.

It is the concept of Circle Police Inspector P K Raju, Sub- Inspectors Chetan and Madappa (Saligrama PS) who are striving day and night only to rein in people under the guidance of SP C B Ryshyanth.

Apart from making announcements on highway patrol vehicle, they are going road to road to appeal people against stepping out of the house.

On the other hand, 40 cases are booked against vehicles in the taluk. Passes are being distributed to those vehicles which are supplying essential commodities like fruits and vegetables and those on medical emergency.

Measures are being taken to quarantine people especially who have come from outside the state and foreign countries, for a period of 14 days.

Check posts are opened on Hanasoge, Saligrama, Doddekoppal, Bherya, Moolepetlu and Hunsur road. Permission is given for selling groceries and vegetables on the premises of APMC in Saligrama and K R Nagar town from 10 am to 11 am.

Overall, the measures being taken by the police here has come in for appreciation from all quarters.
