Mysuru: A wild elephant has strayed into Kolavige village in Hunsur taluk on Tuesday.
The forest personnel swung into action to send the elephant back into forest, forcing the confused pachyderm to run helter- skelter which fell into a storm water drain.
The elephant which is said to have entered the village through the forest was spotted near Ramalingeshwara Temple in Kolavige village.
As the animal fell into the storm water drain, the efforts to drive the elephant was stopped.
The forest officials who are camping at the spot are thinking over summoning a JCB vehicle or camp elephants to lift the animal from the drain.
