Kodagu: A two-and-a-half month old male elephant calf has been rescued at a coffee estate in Manchalli near Kutta on Wednesday.
The calf suspected to have been separated from her mother, may have washed away in river water due to the heavy rainfall in the recent days. However, it is healthy and there is no reason to worry.
RFO of Srimangala Dr B G Girish administered first aid to the elephant.
RFOs Dincy Dechamma (Srimangala) and Shankar of Ponnampet visited the spot.
The elephant has been shifted to Mathigod elephant camp at Titimathi.
