Jolt to Congress! Kolar DCC President, two others defect to BJP

Bengaluru: In a set back to Congress, the sitting president of Kolar District Congress committee Chandra Reddy defected to BJP on Saturday.
They were welcomed into the party fold by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
It has come in handy for BJP with sitting ministers Dr K Sudhakar and Muniratna campaigning on behalf of the party candidates at Kolar- Chikkaballapur constituency for Legislative Council election.
Apart from Chandra Reddy, Srinivas from KGF and Kapali Srinivas from Bangarpet also joined BJP.
Reddy was a strong ticket aspirant from Congress for the council election. However the party preferred another candidate, prompting him to shift loyalty to BJP.
