Mysuru: A delegation of farmers who are staging an indefinite protest against Asian Paints at Immavu in Nanjangud, met Industries minister Jagadish Shettar in the city on Thursday.
Farmers are agitating since last 45 days demanding job to the family members of those farmers whose lands were acquired to set up the factory. As per agreement, the paints company must provide job.
Two days ago Shettar held a meeting in this regard at Bengaluru.
Farmer leader Hosakote Basavaraju who led the delegation of farmers said that the minister has responded positively, but has sought some time to sort out the issue. We also agree, but have given an ultimatum to address the issue. In case of any failure, we will intensify the agitation, warned Hosakote Basavaraju.
