JD(S) national general secretary Ramesh Babu quits party

Chitradurga: At a time when Janata Dal (secular) party is struggling to regain ground, a prominent leader of the party has called it quits.

Ramesh Babu a former MLC and national general secretary of the party has announced his resignation from the primary membership of the party. He has also stepped down from the posts he held in the organisation.

Babu who was associated with Janata parivar for several decades, was the prominent voice of the party and was regular in TV debates.

It was only on August last, he was nominated as National general secretary and made the spokesperson of the party.

Babu was elected to the council in the by- elections held in December 2017 from South East Teachers Constituency in Bengaluru. However, he has not announced about his future plans, but has hinted at remaining active in politics.
