1 min read

Mysuru: Joining the chorus, former minister and MLA Sa Ra Mahesh on Saturday demanded the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities to withdraw super commercial tax slab.

Mahesh who addressed media at his office in the city alleged that “Mysuru city Corporation has violated Karnataka Municipal Corporation (KMC) Act and  defined new tax slab as Super commercial. How can they devise the tax slab exclusively for Mysuru only? he questioned.

District incharge minister should convene a meeting and interact with the public. The people who are already hit by fuel price hike and LPG hike are now facing a burden due to high tax slab. MCC should resolve the issue within a week. Otherwise JDS Corporators will stage a protest in front of Mysuru City Corporation, Mahesh warned.

We spoke to MCC Commissioner and the latter has assured to call a meeting on Tuesday (November 16), said Mahesh.

Since eight years MCC is exploiting the owners of commercial buildings and is now going to tax vacant spaces also. MCC should withdraw super commercial tax slab immediately, he demanded.

Former mayor R Lingappa, Corporators Ashwini Anantu, Shobha, former deputy mayors K V Mallesh and Shylendra others were present.
