JDS leaders protest against Housing Minister Zameer

Bengaluru: JD(S) leaders staged a protest demanding the resignation of Housing Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, at Freedom Park in the city on Wednesday.
The JD(S) leaders led ny former MLC Ramesh Gowda, JDS Bengaluru City Unit President, gathered at Freedom Park, raising slogans against Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan for his controversial remarks about Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s skin colour, calling him as ‘Kariya’.

Leaders from the JD(S) and the Vokkaliga community displayed placards condemning Zameer’s comments, calling them derogatory towards Kumaraswamy.
They urged the state government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to demand Zameer’s resignation.
With the Channapatna by-election underway, the comments by Congress leaders, particularly Zameer, have sparked public outrage.
Although Zameer tendered an apology in Mysuru, JD(S) leaders expressed dissatisfaction and reiterated their demand for his resignation.
