JD(S) has bigger plans for Hunsur, Hassan

1 min read

Mysuru: The recent political developments that saw the toppling of Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress coalition government in the State, seems to have come in handy for the regional party to prove its might again.

The prominent workers of the regional party are exerting pressure to field Prajwal Revanna ( In picture) from Hunsur constituency, that will soon go into by-elections. Prajwal the sitting MP from Hassan should resign and pave way for his grandfather and the party supremo H D Deve Gowda again in the LS by-polls, the workers demand.

Both the seats can be easily won considering the clout of the party, the workers feel.

As the regional party gained more in the old Mysuru region by winning five seats including Hunsur in Mysuru district in the recent assembly election held in 2018, the plan is to win both the seats to reassert the dominance of the party.

Gowda who migrated to Tumakuru LS seat in the recent general election to the parliament had to lose miserably.

A H Vishwanath who was elected on JD(S) ticket from Hunsur was also elevated as the State president of the party. He recently quit as a MLA and inflicted a jolt after he joined 14 other MLAs including from Congress and pulled the mat under the feet of coalition government.
