JDS corporator and VV Mohalla residents protest against power tariff hike

Mysuru: JDS Corporator SBM Manju led a protest against power tariff hike at Vani Vilas Mohalla here on Friday.
He along with the residents of Ward no 6, VV Mohalla, demanded the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited officials to withdraw the hike price and continue the solar energy subsidy, which has now been stopped.
The Congress government in its manifesto had promised to provide free power up to 200 units. But in the name of the scheme, the government is burdening the people as the power tariff hike has come as a rude shock to the people.
The protesters demanded the government to withdraw the hike and extend subsidy on solar energy. They submitted a memorandum to Cescom officials at VV Mohalla.
