Jalapathotsava! Chunchanakatte falls to glow in colourful lights

Mysuru: In the run up to Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara, tourists can behold the sight of water in myriad hues.

Chunchanakatte Jalapathotsava will be held from September 21 to 22 at K R Nagar taluk in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar has inspected the preparations in place at the waterfall that comes alive as and when river Cauvery flows with all its might. The recent rainfall followed by heavy discharge of water from dams has brought the waterfall alive again.

Actor Yogeesha known as ‘Loose Mada’ will be the star attraction for the inaugural session at 6 pm on September 21. Tourism Minister C T Ravi will inaugurate the festival.

The milky white water will get a fabric of colours with laser lights. Cultural programmes will be another highlight with small screen actors also performing during the two-day programme.

The departments concerned have been told to make adequate transportation arrangements, drinking water arrangements and also security.

PWD executive engineer Kishore Chandra, AEE Arun Kumar, Cesc AEE Arkesh, Taluk Panchayat EO Girish, Deputy Tahsildar Mohan and other officers were present during the inspection.
