Jain seer murder: Court sends two accused to police custody till July 17

Belagavi: The Seventh additional district and sessions court has sent two accused in Jain seer Kamakumar Nandi Maharaj’s murder to police custody till July 17. The two accused are Narayan Mali and Hassan Dalayat.
According to Belagavi SP Dr Sanjiv Patil, Mali who worked in the Ashram murdered the seer and took the help of Hassan Dalayat to dump the body. Mali has reportedly confessed to the crime.
It is said that Mali had borrowed money from the seer and did not pay back. He along with another person allegedly hatched a plan to eliminate the seer to avoid repayment. Jain seer of Nandi Parvat Mutt in Hirekodi village, Chikkodi taluk was brutally murdered, tortured with electric shock by two over financial reasons. His body was dumped in well at Khatakbhavi village in Raibag taluk.
Meanwhile, the State BJP unit formed a fact-finding committee to ascertain the truth in the murder of Jain seer.
