Mysuru: Alleging ignorance with the organisers of exhibition at Karnataka Exhibition Authority ( KEA) grounds neglecting Kannada language, pro- Kannada activists urged the authorities to ensure that the language of the land gets its due.

Pro- Kannada activists Bherya Ramkumar and Arvind Sharma alleged that the organisers of Fun World at KEA grounds popularly known as Dasara exhibition grounds have totally neglected Kannada with English getting all the prominence. From entry ticket to parking slip, name boards of stalls to welcome board at the main entrance, most are in English, along with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

It is irony that the State Government which dedicated the year for Kannada has failed to walk the talk in this instance.

Mysuru is known as cultural capital of Karnataka and stands testimony to the rich legacy of Kannada since princely rule.

The activists submitted a memorandum to KEA officer Siddegowda to prevail upon the organisers of the exhibition to rectify the blunder and give due prominence to Kannada.
In his reply, Siddegowda promised to issue related directions, stated a press release.
