Mysuru: Agriculture Minister B C Patil on Friday came down heavily on those who are trying to distort peace in the State.

Patil a retired DySP who spoke to media on the sidelines of interaction with farmers organised in the city said “those in Karnataka who are trying to disturb peace must understand that it is India, not Taliban”.

“Karnataka is a peaceful state, but some are trying to disturb social harmony. Congress is supporting those anti- social elements. In the recent Hubballi incident too, the accused was arrested and FIR registered, but thousands of them gathered to disturb peace. This is India not Taliban, to misuse the law”, Patil curtly said.

“I have sufficient experience as a police. If the chief minister gives me Home department, I am ready to handle it. Even the incumbent Home Minister Araga Jnanendra is also doing good”, clarified Patil.
