Mysuru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday disclosed that “It will be simple Dasara festival this year”.

Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara will be celebrated with the onset of Navaratri celebration on October 17 and Vijayadashami the last leg of Dasara on October 26.
Speaking to media persons after offering bagina at Kabini dam in H D Kote, the chief minister said ” Dasara will be celebrated in a simple and traditional manner. The high power committee meeting that will decide on the schedule of the annual festival will be convened soon, in discussion with Mysuru district incharge minister S T Somashekar”.
The state government has almost decided to celebrate the annual festival in a simple manner in the wake of prevailing Coronavirus crises.
The big ticket event of the state attracts a minimum of five lakh people including tourists every year.
To avoid the conglomeration of people in large numbers, the state government is keen on reducing the grandeur associated with Dasara and celebrating without compromising on the tradition associated with it.
Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, Cooperation and district incharge minister S T Somashekar, H D Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu were present.
