Chamarajanagar: In a tragic incident, an IT professional who was on his way to Nagamale in Chamarajanagar district to offer prayers was trampled by a tusker on Saturday. The deceased is identified as Govindaraju.
Govindaraju, who works in an IT firm in Bengaluru was on his way to Nagamale along with another man, Lokesh. They first visited Male Mahadeshwara temple and were on their way to Nagamale, which is nestled in the dense MM Hills. However, a tusker attacked both the men in the night. While Lokesh managed to escape, Govindaraju was killed on the spot. The incident occurred in the forest area near the Indiganatta check post. Lokesh, immediately alerted the authorities in the morning.
Movement of elephants is frequently spotted in Nagamale and adjoining areas of the forest.
