Mysuru: Mysuru and Kodagu MP Prathap Simha had made a slew of promises before the previous parliamentary elections held in 2019.

The promise was to extend Vishwamanava Express till Ashokapuram railway station and improve the basic infrastructural facilities for the benefit of passengers.
Barring the extension of Vishwamanava Express train, that was even withdrawn later from Ashokapuram station, most of the other promises remain unkept.

To remind the MP, foundation was laid for foot over bridge, and one and a half years have elapsed and there is no sign yet of starting the works. Four trenches were dug up to seven feet deep on the Pampapathi road on the backside of the station and in the case of any rain it may pose danger.
Following the lack of adequate platforms it had been promised to add two more platforms so that it will enable edtension of more trains in the future.
Leave aside building the platform, the only one extended train was also stopped from departing the station.
The train was departing at 5.15 am and the commuters were struggling to reach the train under pitch dark due to lack of adequate lighting facilities. Eventually the train was stopped due to lack of response.
If the authorities provide facilities in time, why will the train go empty?
