International Women’s Day! South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation fetes deserving women staff

Mysuru: South Western Railways Mysuru division celebrated International Women’s Day 2022 on Friday with great zeal in Mysuru Railway Station under the theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
Kalika Agarwal, President South Western Railway Women Welfare Organization, Mysuru Division inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp.

Speaking on the occasion she said that “the contribution of women in every field of life is massive and was heartening to see the outstanding role played by women during the Covid Pandemic”.
She emphasized that Women’s Day should be celebrated not only on one day but they should be honoured and celebrated each and every day and urged to recognise the significance of women in our life and societies and inspire them for greater future achievements on this International Women’s Day.

In all 36 women housekeeping staff working at Mysuru Railway Station who are involved in the upkeep of station’s cleanliness and the lone Women licensed Rail Sahayak of South Western Railway were handed over mementos during the occasion by SWRWWO.
Out of total strength of 611 women employees 11 meritorious women employees of Mysuru Division who have excelled in their duties were felicitated by Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager in a separate valedictory programme organized later in the day at Chamundi Club, Yadavagiri by the members of SWRWWO.
Budati Srinivasalu, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Prashanth Mastiholi, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer and other Senior officers were also present.
As part of women’s day celebration various entertainment programmes like Rangoli competition, cooking Competition and other cultural programmes and games were also conducted as part of the day long events, according to Dr Manjunath Kanamadi
