International Women’s Day celebrated at ATMECE

Mysuru: International Women’s Day-2024 was organised by Women’s Cell-ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), CICC-ATME in association with AFH, Mumbai at ATME College of Engineering, Mysuru.

The function was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais.

Chief Guest Dr Purnima K Murthy, Director & Chief Consultant, Prajna Kuteera, Mysuru, said “Women are cultural ambassadors as they carry art and heritage to the next generation. So, women are highly responsible and shall be sensible in carrying out each task.”

She also mentioned about education provided to women since ancient history.

Guest of honour Dr Jyothi Shankar, renowned Orator & Assistant Professor, KSOU Mysuru, spoke about present generation and impact of social media and the bitter truth of younger generation forgetting their responsibility in the name of modernisation.

Dr Govinde Gowda M S, Dean Academics-ATMECE, spoke on importance of Girls education in the house and the whole world.

Dr Sachidanandamurthy, Administrative Officer, ATMECE, spoke about gender equality.

He asked when both are equally important in the nature, why is the reservation necessary? Both have same right and education throughout the ages.

Dr Bhagyashree S R, Chairperson Women Cell & CICC ATME, briefed about the events and activities conducted in the college as a part of Women’s Day for the students and faculties.

The programme was presided over by Dr Basavaraj L, In-charge Principal & Director IQAC, who rendered presidential address.

Madhurya V, I year CG student rendered invocation, as Gagana S L, II-year ECE delivered welcome address. Tasbiya Taskin, I year CG student was the comperer.

Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries to the winners. Programme coordinators and other faculty members and students were present. The function concluded with vote of thanks.
