Insurance cover for safari tourists at Nagarahole Tiger Reserve

Mysuru: In a first of its kind initiative, Nagarahole Tiger Reserve Forest introduced the insurance cover for safari tourists.

Karnataka state is one of the richest states in biodiversity. Nagarahole Tiger Reserve has long been known for implementing wildlife tourism activities.

Nagarahole Tiger Reserve is one of the major destinations for wildlife lovers in India with around 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh tourists participating in wildlife viewing safaris every year.

As a precautionary measure and in the interest of tourists, the new scheme has been introduced to provide insurance cover to tourists to cover the risks that may occur while visiting Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.

According to Nagarahole Tiger Reserve Forest Conservator of Forest Harsha Kumar Chikkanaragund ” Rs one crore through India Insurance Co. Ltd. (per tourist with insurance facility of Rs 5.00 lakhs each) vide Policy number – 0706022723P107894900.”

Nagarahole forest is spread in Mysuru and Kodagu districts with area covering 847.98 sq.km. In Nagarahole Forest Kakanakote Safari Center is at Antarasante forest range.
Here tourists enjoy safari on all the days of the week.
