India sends third NDRF rescue and search teams to quake-hit Turkey & Syria

Delhi: As the death toll in Syria and Turkey is rising by the day, the Indian Government has pressed ‘Operation Dost’ by sending NDRF teams to help the quake-hit nations.

The third NDRF search and rescue teams left for earthquake-hit Turkey. MoS for External Affairs V Muraleedharan met the team at Hindon airport in Ghaziabad from where Indian Air Force’s C17 Globemaster aircraft took off for Turkey as part of ongoing ‘OperationDost’.

Mr Muraleedharan said, at present, there are four teams working on the ground, besides, two rescue teams, including dog squads and two medical teams. He said, India is ready to extend support to the people of Turkey. India has always been helping people across the world and always extends humanitarian assistance whenever necessary.
