In less than one year, 2013 lives lost to pandemic in Mysuru

Mysuru: It’s been a year since Covid-19 pandemic struck the nation, on April last, there is no respite yet.
Mysuru alone saw 2,013 deaths till date during the period and adding to this 13 people have succumbed to black fungus (Mucormycosis).
The first Covid-19 death happened here on June 25, 2020. After Bengaluru, Mysuru saw 2013 deaths with 1200 in first wave and 813 deaths in the second wave, totalling 2013 deaths so far reported in Mysuru.
It’s less than a year when first death was reported, death toll has already crossed 2000.
Apart from this, black fungus cases and deaths are also increasing day by day. About 13 have succumbed to it.
The second wave is not over yet and preparations have already begun to tackle the impending third wave, when children will be more vulnerable according to experts.
