In a first, Covid Care Centre for Women opened in Mysuru

Mysuru: Covid care took a new dimension in the city, with the district administration setting up an exclusive special Covid Care Centre for women.

A first of it’s kind Covid Care Centre for Women is set up at International Youth Hostel campus in Gokulam.

The 64-bed facility will be managed by VV Puram Maternity Hospital staff with assistance from Ashakirana Hospital’s doctors and nurses.

Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri said “Mysuru will get additional three Covid Care Centers. One each at Chamaraja Constituency’s Government Naturopathy and Yoga Institute with 50 beds and KR Constituency’s post-matric women’s BCM hostel near RMC with 300 beds and NR Constituency’s Farooqia Pharmacy College Covid care center with 200 beds. They are are all prepared for free treatment for public.

Rural Mysuru had 19 Covid Care centers and 1700 people are already taken care of at these CCCs. In Mysuru City, there are 8,535 active cases and in rural there are 6,550 active cases.

Covid care centers are opened with the main aim of helping those who can’t stay under isolation separately at home.

All these are efforts are expected to come in handy in making Mysuru Covid Free by Doctor’s Day on July 1.

Chamaraja MLA L Nagendra, former MLC D Madegowda and corporator Bhagya Madesh were present.
