Implement Mekedatu project immediately: AAP demands CM Basavaraj Bommai

2 min read

Mysuru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai government should hold the ground breaking ceremony immediately and keep a strict deadline of one year for the completion of the Mekedaatu drinking water project.

Even though the detailed plan was ready for several years it has not been implemented due to lack of political will by all three party governments that ruled the states in recent years. This is a good opportunity for the new CM to show that he is not a puppet of the high command and without succumbing to pressure from the Union and TN Governments, he should hold the ground breaking ceremony immediately said  Malavika Gubbivani, District Convener of AAP Mysuru.

AAP leaders participated and supported the protest held under the collective leadership of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Hasiru Sene in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday.

She added that this is a matter of prestige for people of Karnataka and hence the CM should take a bold decision. BJP managed to win more seats by making false promise that if there is same party government at both state and the center, the double engine government will be able to do wonders. But they are now giving only double standard administration everywhere, one stand in TN and a different one in Karnataka and thus creating unnecessary controversy.

Mekedatu project is for drinking water purpose only and the water will not be used for agricultural purpose and hence the farmers of TN will not be put to any hardship. However both BJP and Congress in TN are doing a false propaganda against this project. It will be the job for people of Karnataka to teach a befitting lesson to both these parties, demanded Malavika Gubbivani.
