II PUC results announced! 4.5 lakh students excel in first class

Mysuru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar on Tuesday announced second PUC exams results.

Dakshina Kannada secured first place, with the total number of first class and distinction secured students at 4,50,706 in the State.

While a total of 1,47,055 students secured second class and 68,729 students are declared as just pass.

Due to second wave of Covid-19 pandemic second PUC exams were cancelled and state government had set a new criteria to qualify the students for higher studies.

A special evaluation criterion was devised to calculate the results. As per criteria, 45 per cent weightage will be calculated from the marks scored in SSLC (class 10) exams, 45 per cent of I PU marks and 10 per cent of the internal assessment marks of II PU, Suresh Kumar said.

The government has decided to give 35 per cent grace marks to repeaters. Over 76,000 candidates who had registered for the exam this year are benefitted, he added.

Those who are not happy with the marks allotted can apply for writing the exams, said Suresh Kumar.
