Ignoring cries of flood affected, BJP legislators busy lobbying for cabinet berth, alleges ex-MP V S Ugrappa

Mysuru: While the people are suffering from flood in the state, BJP MPs and MLAs are camping in Bengaluru and Delhi respectively lobbying for cabinet berth, alleged former MP and senior Congress leader V S Ugrappa.

Ugrappa told media persons on Tuesday “state is witnessing flood with around 11 districts affected leaving people in distress. But the existence of government is still not visible.” 

For name sake, chief minister went on one day inspection of affected areas, leaving the residents of other flood hit areas in lurch. Both the State and union governments have scant concern for the people, alleged Ugrappa.

BJP MLAs and MPs are loitering in Bengaluru and Delhi. It is all for ministerial posts, neglecting the interest of public, Ugrappa claimed.

While the state has released Rs 600 crore to address the situation, union government hasn’t released any funds. State government is yet to assess the situation and loss. It has failed in its fundamental duties, Ugrappa said.

Pegasus NSO scam which has rattled the country also has cost around Rs seven crore to tap the phones of six to seven personalities alone. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramaniyamswamy has also endorsed it. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is curbing democracy and targeting opposition party leaders, thinkers and defence system. They have handicapped the system, alleged Ugrappa.

The measures taken to manage Covid-19 pandemic has destroyed the overall system. PM said we will win the battle in 21 days, but where did we win? Both the governments are not even prepared to face Covid third wave, said Ugrappa lambasting the BJP headed state and central governments.

MLC A H Vishwanath and Vjayapura MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal have become become silent babas. Former chief minister B S Yediyurappa and his coterie is involved in Rs 21,000 crore scam at water resources department. They have received Rs nine Crore kickback for pollution control board, alleged Ugrappa.

Mysuru district rural Congress committee president B J Vijay Kumar, City President R Murthy, KPCC spokesperson Manjula Manasa and former Mylac Chairman H A Venkatesh were present.
