IEE CAS hosts webinar on awareness and membership drive

Mysuru: IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) Bangalore Chapter in association with IEEE Bangalore section organised webinar on “IEEE Awareness and Membership Drive Programme” for KLE Dr M S Sheshgiri College of Engineering & Technology, Belagavi recently.

The session started with welcoming the panel members, resource persons and participants by Dr Rajashri Khanai, HOD, ECE, KLE Dr MSSCET, Belagavi. Dr Parameshachari B D Professor and Head, Department of Telecommunication Engineering GSSSIETW Mysuru and Secretary IEEE CAS Bangalore Chapter and Prof. Raghavendra Prasad S G, RVCE, Bengaluru SAC Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section were the speakers for this webinar.

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. It aims to establish a network of IEEE members and volunteers dedicated to promoting engineers and scientists, and inspiring students/Professionals around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering and science.

Dr Parameshachari B D, Professor and Head, Department of Telecommunication Engineering GSSSIETW Mysuru and Secretary IEEE CAS Bangalore Chapter delivered the talk on awareness of IEEE student branch/chapter and benefits of IEEE membership to enhance their career.

Dr Parameshachari B D also highlighted about IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society.

IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society is a leading technical society that promotes the advancement of the theory, analysis, design, tools, and implementation of circuits and systems. Association with Technical Professional Body will help in receiving recognition by Accreditation bodies.

He also highlighted about the opportunities to IEEE Student Branches by networking in their areas of interest and future profession. He also enlightened participants about IEEE Senior Membership. IEEE Senior Membership is an important recognition of the professional development of an IEEE member.

Prof Raghavendra Prasad S G, RVCE, Bengaluru SAC Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section elaborated about IEEE Continuing professional education.

He explained how IEEE is helping the professionals and students. Organizing free webinars to support academic faculty transitioning to distance learning get ready for new semester by learning the new technology and information to the academicians. Highlighted the IEEE blended learning program virtual as well as face to face popular courses, IEEE certification programs, IEEE spectrum in different engineering fields, how to become an IEEE virtual speaker. Shared his experience with IEEE PDH and CEU certification, Try engineering lesson plans, IEEE.tv, PhET interactive simulations, IEEE HAC education Forums, IEEE spectrum Magazine and finally concluded with the benefits of having IEEE membership for the professionals.

Finally the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Sujata N Patil, Associate Professor, Dept. of ECE and IEEE CAS Belagaum Region Coordinator.

More than 200 students & faculty members from various engineering colleges were present. This webinar was highly appreciated by the participants.
