Mysuru: Two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation for Ram temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, idols of Rama and Sita are found at a village in K R Nagar taluk on Friday.

Vishwanath of Chandagalu village was levelling the land using tractor to cultivate paddy when he came across the part of the idols buried in the land. When the earth around was dug the idols mostly in fine condition were found.

Vishwanath and others cleaned the idols and worshipped them. As the news spread farmers from neighbouring fields too came rushing only to pay obeisance to the lord.

Tahsildar M Manjula who visited the spot told Mysoorunews.com “the idols are made of wood. While the idol of Ram is intact, the idol of Sita is partially damaged. They have been kept at Sri Rama Mandira in the village. The department of archaeology, heritage and museums is informed about the rare findings for further measures in this regard”.
