IAS Officer Rohini Sindhuri seeks blessings of Basappa, the sacred bull

Maddur: IAS Officer Rohini Sindhuri on Saturday sought the blessings of Basappa the sacred bull of Kalabhyraveshwara Swamy, Chikkarasinakere in Maddur taluk, Mandya district.

Rohini who was recently embroiled in a controversy with IPS officer D Roopa levelling grave allegations against her, visited the temple.

According to the practice, the devotees offer puja and seek the blessings of the sacred bull, called as ‘Basappana Padha’. If the bull raises its right leg forward, it is considered auspicious and whatever vow of the devotees, will be fulfilled.

Sindhuri who sat near the foot of the bull, was told about the practice and she offered prayers in her mind, with a vow. The bull raised the leg, to the relief of Rohini Sindhuri who had to wait for 10 minutes.

Rohini Sindhuri assured to return again after sometime and do her mite for the temple.

Following the controversy, both the officers (Sindhuri and Roopa) were transferred from the posts they were holding, but without any posting.
