IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri files defamation case against IPS officer Roopa, seeks Rs 1 cr

Bengaluru: Accusing IPS officer D Roopa of indulging in making personal allegations with an intention to bring disrepute to her, IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri filed a defamation suit against the IPS officer seeking Rs 1 cr for the damages caused by her.
IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri along with her husband Sudhir Reddy appeared before the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate here and filed the suit.
The IAS officer told the court that despite issuing restrictions from making personal allegations to IPS officer Roopa, she continued to make allegations in public and on social media platforms. “These allegations are personal in nature and were intended at bringing disrepute to me,” she told the court. The IAS officer also informed the court that IPS officer continued to raise Chamarajanagar hospital’s oxygen tragedy, even after the government’s inquiry into it.
The court has adjourned the hearing until March 3.
