IAF orders court of inquiry after Surya Kiran trainer aircraft crashes near Chamarajanagar

Chamarajanagar: The aircraft that crashed near Chamarajanagar on Thursday is the ‘Surya Kiran’, trainer aircraft. It was on a routine training sortie when it crashed.
It is said that Wing Commander Tejpal was training junior pilot Bhumika when the incident occurred. The pilot and the co-pilot have sustained minor injuries and have been treated.

Kathyayini Devi, Additional DC of Chamarajanagar said that it looks like a technical error. Expert team is here and they are examining the cause of the crash.
The Indian Air Force tweeted that “A Kiran trainer aircraft of the IAF crashed near Chamrajnagar, Karnataka today, while on a routine training sortie. Both air crew ejected safely. A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.”
