‘I was a victim of conspiracy’ says outgoing DC Rohini Sindhuri

Mysuru: Finally breaking her silence over the travails she had to endure, ever since she took charge as deputy commissioner till her transfer recently, outgoing deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri said it all before media.

Before that Sindhuri said “Thank You Mysuru”.

Mincing no words, Rohini Sindhuri who blamed it on land mafia, said ” Right from the day one, I was keen on restoring government lands and lakes encroached upon by the real estate cartel. So, I was not allowed to work and troubled for no reasons.”

“I had made a sincere attempt to clear the encroachments of Kergalli lake and rejuvenate the lake with water. In addition, I had launched efforts to retain a vast extent of 1500 acres of land in Survey No-4 and had also hired an able lawyer to argue the case in Supreme Court.”

Asserting that she was a victim of conspiracy, Rohini Sindhuri however had sympathies for fellow IAS officer MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag who had announced her resignation after blaming her.

“She has spoken against me in frustration,” said Rohini Sindhuri.

Clarifying that she had clear plans to work for the development of tourism and also clear encroachments, Sindhuri said however I hadn’t expected the transfer.

” I should have mind my business”, saying she would have continued had she not made efforts to take on land mafia, with strict action.

However, she had a word of praise for Mysureans who according to Sindhuri treated her like a daughter.

“It’s like leaving my parent’s home,” said Sindhuri narrating the bond she had developed with the city in her eight months stint in city.
