I-T Joint Commissioner urges timely payment of tax

Mysuru: Timely payment of tax is not just a responsibility of every citizen, but also will help India implement the development plans and achieve the ambition of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy.

During her interaction with the taxpayers, Kalpalata Rajan, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range 1, Mysuru stressed the importance of timely payment of taxes.

The interaction of the Income Tax Department with taxpayers was organised by Mysuru Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on March 13 at the ICAI Branch premises.

Chartered Accountants and Income Tax practitioners actively participated in the interaction.

M H Hussain, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Circle 1(1) Mysuru heard the queries of taxpayers and provided solutions to some of the issues.

Mysuru Income Tax Commissionerate urged the taxpayers to deposit the last installment of the advance tax for financial year 2023-2024 on or before March 15, 2024.

The interaction concluded with the Managing Committee of Mysuru Branch of ICAI highlighting how interest can be avoided by making payment of advance income tax.
