Hundreds take jab at Columbia Asia Hospital’s drive through vaccine at Forum Centre City Mall in Mysuru

Mysuru: Covid-19 inoculation is gaining prominence across the country. To make
the vaccination program accessible and hassle free to the public, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysore (A unit of Manipal Hospitals) and Forum Centre City Mall Mysore together had organized for a drive-through vaccination program at the premises of Forum Centre City Mall Mysore.
Over 100 people participated on the first day of the drive. On the first day, the vaccination drive saw a good response for Covishield vaccine. The registration, payment, inoculation and observation took place in the mall premises while people waited for their turn in their vehicles.
Nagaraj L, a retired employee of University of Mysore, who got inoculated at the camp said “It is a one of its kind vaccination drive in the city. We are happy that Columbia Asia Hospital and Forum Centre City Mall came forward for such a unique initiative. This has benefitted a lot of citizens to get the jab. I took the jab along with my wife who is a homemaker. The entire camp was organised very well keeping in mind the comfort of people especially senior citizens like us.”
Speaking about the drive Dr Gautam Das General Manager, Columbia Asia Hospitals, Mysore (A Unit of Manipal Hospitals) said “Prioritising the safety and convenience of
people, we have organised a drive through vaccination camp in the mall. We have witnessed a good response on the first day and being one of the largest providers of healthcare across the country we will be happy to continue this initiative as it makes the vaccination program accessible to all. Our staff and nurses were stationed here to make the entire process hassle free. We urge the citizens to continue varying masks and practice social distancing and keep themselves safe as the battle with Covid-19 is not yet over.”
Highlighting the process followed, Dhanasekaran R, General Manager, Forum Centre City Mall Mysore said “In order to encourage vaccination among our citizens we have arranged this drive and got some good response as the lockdown is over. Forum & Columbia Asia Hospital staff took all the necessary precautions for this drive to make it a smooth one for the beneficiaries. People were administered the vaccine inside the car itself and they did
not have to get out of their car, which gave them a sense of safety during these perilous
times. It is a one of its kind vaccination drive in the city.”
The hospital had arranged the necessary medical facilities in the event of any emergencies. The vaccine was administered to the patients at the price fixed by the government.
