How safe are your kids in day care centres?

2 min read

Bengaluru: The safety of tiny toddlers who are left at day care centres by working parents in Metropolitan cities like Bengaluru has come into question, yet again. A disturbing video of a senior toddler hitting a junior has emerged from a day care centre, identified as Tenderfoot in Chikkalasandra, Bengaluru. Netizens are shocked and disturbed at the kind of ‘child abuse’ and the behaviour of the senior toddler.

In the video, the senior toddler goes on repeatedly hitting the junior toddler, even pushing down, biting and badly hitting when the attendant was away.

Netizens are fuming at the school’s irresponsibility for keeping the tiny tots in a small room and leaving them unattended.

Members of Aam Admi Party who held a press conference in Bengaluru on Friday condemned commercialisation of day care centres. He also expressed his concern over appointment of inexperienced staff by daycare centres who lack expertise to handle tiny tots. He urged the state governments to check mushrooming of daycare centres in the city and form a guideline to regulate such centres and help children grow in a healthy environment.

The Citizens Movement, Bengaluru took to Twitter to share the video and appealed to the people against sending their kids here.

Sandalwood actor Jaggesh too expressed his shock over the video. He wrote on Twitter, “Working parent leave their child here with utmost trust. But all the kids are put in one room like a jail. Parents please hire an attendant or keep them with their grandparents. Being a grandfather, (I’m) disturbed to see the video.”
